Session Topic: One System Above: The Gut-Urogenital Connection
M. Victoria Albina, FNP-c, MPH is a board certified Nurse Practitioner, herbalist & cognitive behavioral life coach with over 20 years in health and wellness, advanced training in functional medicine, and a passion for the gut-brain connection. Victoria takes a patient-centered, holistic approach, and provides comprehensive, individualized care, rooted in a deep belief in a patient’s power to change their life. She is passionate about gut health, and the link between the gut and anxiety/depression, fatigue, adrenal-axis dysfunction, thyroid and hormone imbalance. She studied medicine at UCSF, got her Masters in Public Health at Boston University, is certified through Chris Kresser’s ADAPT functional medicine program and the Association for the Advancement of Restorative Medicine, and trained in Sam Coffman’s ‘The Human Path’ Herbalist Program. She has taught at UCSF and Duke University, and gives frequent lectures on self-care for activists in NYC and beyond. She lives in Brooklyn with her partner, runs a private practice in NYC and sees clients world-wide for life coaching. As an Argentine-American, she loves a good steak, dulce de leche on everything, and knows way too much about rugby.
